In March 2011 the Samoan Golf Tour was created for players of all skill levels who play in low gross competition only. However, in September, the tour has opened the venue for players who play in handicap net competition based on our tournament handicap index system.
Fogavaiuta Lani Sio-McLin is the Executive Director of the Samoan Golf Tour. She oversees all aspects of the tour. Responsible for operations concerning media relations, tournament logistics, and the recruitment of new members and sponsors. As an avid and accomplished golfer, Uta has the competence, ability, and experience that enables her to work well among diversified personalities with fairness, patience, and professionalism.
For over 20 years, Uta was a flight attendant for South Pacific International Airways (SPIA) and Hawaiian Airlines. Her devotion to the game shone through her many record-setting accomplishments and achievements on the course. Uta's passion for the game represents what the Samoan Golf Tour can provide.
"This is a great opportunity for our people, old and young, male and female, of all skill levels to come together and have fellowship in a positive, fun environment, and to celebrate our talents and culture through golf." Uta explained.
The Samoan Golf Tour is scheduled on the week-end for players who work for a living. We provide a fair test for all players of all skill levels, and work to positively influence these players' lives through our focus of.... one individual player.... one stroke....one hole at a time. We will always be professional, enthusiastic, and exemplify the utmost integrity in the game of golf.
